World Trigger Manga Takes A 1-Month Hiatus Due To Creator’s Health Issues

The team behind World Trigger revealed on Saturday that the series will go on a one-month hiatus due to creator Daisuke Ashihara experiencing health issues. As a result, no new chapter will appear in the May 2 issue of Jump SQ.. The manga is currently planned to resume publication in the magazine’s July 2026 issue, set for release on June 4.

World Trigger is a Japanese manga crafted and illustrated by Daisuke Ashihara [ja]. It debuted in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump from February 2013 through November 2018, before shifting to Jump Square that December. The series’ installments are bundled into 28 tankōbon editions as of December 2025. Viz Media handles the English-language licensing for North America.

The story inspired an anime TV adaptation by Toei Animation, which ran on TV Asahi starting in October 2014 and wrapping up in April 2016. Season two followed from January to April 2021, with the third airing between October 2021 and January 2022.
