Young Ladies Don’t Play Fighting Games is a Japanese manga series created by Eri Ejima, who both writes and illustrates the story. It has been running in Media Factory’s seinen manga magazine Monthly Comic Flapper since January 2020 and has been compiled into ten tankōbon volumes so far. In North America, the series is officially licensed by Seven Seas Entertainment. A live-action web drama adaptation was released between May and July 2023, and an anime television adaptation produced by Diomedéa is scheduled to premiere in July 2026.
The story follows a group of refined young girls attending an elite all-girls academy where video games are strictly forbidden. Despite the rules, they secretly share a deep passion for fighting games and ultimately set their sights on competing in Japan’s largest fighting game tournament.
