During the Pokémon Presents livestream held on February 27, 2026, to mark Pokémon Day, the company unveiled its Generation 10 games along with the new starter Pokémon. Titled Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, these titles are scheduled for an exclusive release on the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. This exciting reveal coincides with the franchise’s milestone 30th anniversary celebration on the same day.
The announcement trailer showcased a fresh open-world adventure featuring windswept islands and expansive ocean environments, plus the debut of the three new starters.

The trailer also showcased a variety of Pokémon alongside the playable trainers, while debuting the three starter Pokémon: Grass-type Browt (Haburō in Japanese), Fire-type Pombon (Pomuken), and Water-type Gecqua (Miorii). – VIA ANN
Game Freak is taking the helm on development for these titles once more. The games spotlight two costumed Pikachu: Mr. Windychu and Ms. Wavychu.
