The Diary of a Middle-Aged Sage’s Carefree Life in Another World is a Japanese light novel series created by Yasukiyo Kotobuki and illustrated by Johndee. The story first appeared in February 2016 on the user-driven publishing platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō. It was later picked up by Media Factory, which released it under its MF Books label starting in September 2016.
A manga adaptation featuring artwork by 888 began serialization in April 2018 on ComicWalker, a site operated by Kadokawa. Later that same year, in October, a second manga version illustrated by Maneki—titled The Diary of a Middle-Aged Teacher’s Carefree Life in Another World—started serialization on Manga Up!, run by Square Enix.
