Kodansha’s Monthly Shōnen Magazine has published the final chapter of the “Academy Arc” in Hiro Mashima’s DEAD ROCK manga in its June issue on Thursday.
The series will now enter a hiatus before returning this winter with the new “Godfall” arc.

Dead Rock is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hiro Mashima. It began serialization in Kodansha’s shōnen manga magazine, Monthly Shōnen Magazine, in July 2023. As of May 2026, the series has been compiled into seven tankōbon volumes.
The story is set at Dead Rock, a prestigious academy located in the demon world that trains its students to become demon rulers capable of conquering the human world. Yakuto, a young demon with the blood of a black dragon, is one of only seven applicants to survive the academy’s lethal special entrance exam and enter Class F.
On his very first day, Yakuto kills his homeroom teacher and discloses his real goal: to assassinate God — the supreme evil entity who serves as the principal of Dead Rock. With this dangerous objective in mind, he draws his classmates into his audacious plan as they all struggle to survive the academy’s merciless curriculum, bloodthirsty instructors, and cutthroat rival students.
