World Trigger Manga Goes On A 1-Issue Break Due To Author’s Health Issue

On Monday, the official X account (previously known as Twitter) for Daisuke Ashihara’s World Trigger manga revealed that the series will skip one issue because of the author’s ongoing health concerns.

As a result, no new chapter will appear in Shueisha’s Jump SQ. magazine issue set for release on January 5. The manga is expected to resume with the March 2026 issue, which goes on sale February 4.

World Trigger is a Japanese manga crafted and illustrated by Daisuke Ashihara [ja]. It debuted in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump from February 2013 through November 2018, before shifting to Jump Square that December. The series’ installments are bundled into 28 tankōbon editions as of December 2025. Viz Media handles the English-language licensing for North America.

The story inspired an anime TV adaptation by Toei Animation, which ran on TV Asahi starting in October 2014 and wrapping up in April 2016. Season two followed from January to April 2021, with the third airing between October 2021 and January 2022.
