You and I Are Polar Opposites is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kōcha Agasawa [ja]. It debuted as a one-shot story on Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ platform in January 2021, then transitioned to a full serialization on the same site beginning in May 2022 and concluding in November 2024. The complete run was ultimately compiled into eight tankōbon volumes
In the manga, high schoolers Miyu Suzuki and Yusuke Tani represent complete contrasts: Suzuki is a vibrant, sociable young woman who often yields to peer pressure despite her inner doubts, in stark opposition to Tani, a reserved and candid guy who always voices his true thoughts without filter. This dynamic ignites Suzuki’s secret affection for Tani, yet she struggles to reveal her heart and remains oblivious to his reciprocal emotions. Throughout the series, their evolving connection unfolds alongside the personal challenges faced by their close-knit group of friends.
