The Insipid Prince’s Furtive Grab for The Throne anime‘s official website unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming anime.

The Insipid Prince’s Furtive Grab for The Throne is a Japanese light novel series written by Tanba and illustrated by Yuunagi. It was first posted online between February 2019 and February 2024 on the user-generated novel platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō. Kadokawa Shoten later picked it up for print, releasing sixteen volumes under their Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint since September 2019.
A manga adaptation illustrated by Yukino Amagai began serialization in December 2019 on Kadokawa Shoten’s Young Ace Up website and has been compiled into nine tankōbon volumes so far. Both the light novel and manga have received official licensing in North America by Kadokawa.
Plot summary:
In the Ardrasia Empire, the sudden death of the crown prince in battle has intensified the fierce competition for the imperial throne. For the princes, defeat in this power struggle can mean death, leaving lower-ranking royals in constant danger of assassination.
The seventh prince, Arnold Lakes Adler, is widely regarded as incompetent and derided by the nobility as the “leftover prince,” since his twin brother—the eighth prince Leonard—appears to have inherited all his positive traits. In truth, however, Arnold is the most powerful prince of all. He operates in secret as the masked SS-rank adventurer “Silver,” completing the most dangerous quests with overwhelming magical ability.
With no desire to claim the throne himself, Arnold works covertly from the shadows to safeguard his own life while supporting his younger brother Leo, whom he considers far more deserving of becoming emperor.
