Kanojo no Tomodachi manga‘s creator Jura recently shared an illustration that confirms an anime adaptation is officially on the way.
WWWave Corporation’s Deregula produces the anime.
Kanojo no Tomodachi is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Jura. The series began serialization in May 2021 on Kodansha’s YanMaga Web platform and has released six volumes as of October 2025. An anime adaptation is scheduled to premiere in 2026.
The story centers on Takeru Hidaka, a high school student who is dating his classmate Kaori Koga. One day, Tomoko Yoshioka—Kaori’s best friend—invites herself along to the couple’s karaoke outing. During the date, Kaori begins seducing Takeru and asks him to start a relationship with her. Although Takeru initially hesitates and insists on his loyalty to Kaori, he ultimately finds her too irresistible and reluctantly begins cheating on Kaori with her.
