The Rising of the Shield Hero season 4 anime premiered on July 9, 2025.

The anime The Rising of the Shield Hero debuted in January 2019 with a special two-hour premiere, followed by a 25-episode run. Crunchyroll simulcast the series alongside its Japanese release. The second season aired in April 2022, with Crunchyroll continuing to stream it live. Season three arrived in October 2023, consisting of 12 episodes.

One Peace Books publishes the English translations of Yusagi Aneko’s original light novels and Aiya Kyu’s manga adaptation. Their summary of the first novel reads:

“Naofumi Iwatani, an uncharismatic otaku who spends his days on games and manga, suddenly finds himself summoned to a parallel universe!
