Sound! Euphonium The Final Movie Part 1 Anime Unveiled The Official Trailer

The Sound! Euphonium: The Final Movie Part 1 unveiled its main trailer on Saturday.

This theatrical compilation film, which recaps and expands on the third season with additional new scenes and performances, is scheduled to open in Japanese theaters on April 24, 2026.

The trailer highlights fresh animation, including standout moments from the “Sunrise Festival” marching event and the Kitauji High School concert band’s push toward national gold, all underscored by the theme song “ToCoda” performed by TRUE.

Sound! Euphonium: The Movie โ€“ Our Promise: A Brand New Day is a 2019 Japanese animated feature film adapted from Ayano Takeda’s novel series Sound! Euphonium. It serves as a direct continuation to the events of the first two seasons of the anime television adaptation.

Kyoto Animation handled the production, with Shochiku managing distribution. The film was directed by Tatsuya Ishihara, who worked from a screenplay penned by Jukki Hanada. The story centers on Kumiko ลŒmae during her second year at Kitauji High School, where she takes on the role of guiding and mentoring the incoming first-year members of the school’s concert band.

The project was first revealed among two new anime endeavors from the studio in June 2017, with Ishihara confirmed as director. The official title was announced in June 2018, alongside confirmation that Tomoyo Kurosawa would reprise her role as Kumiko, and introductions to new characters. Further details on staff and additional cast members emerged in September and December of that year.

The movie premiered with a special screening in Yลซrakuchล, Tokyo, on April 5, 2019, before its wide theatrical release in Japan on April 19, 2019. It earned ยฅ320 million at the Japanese box office.

Later, a third season of the anime aired in Japan starting April 7, 2024. Building on that, Sound! Euphonium: The Final Movie is a two-part theatrical compilation/recap project covering the third season of the Sound! Euphonium series. The first part is scheduled to premiere in Japan on April 24, 2026.

These films will include fresh material beyond the TV episodes. Jukki Hanada crafted an original scenario for the project, and Kyoto Animation has confirmed the addition of multiple new scenes, including previously unseen performance sequences.
