The Level 999 Villager anime‘s official website unveiled the teaser trailer for the up and coming anime based on the light-novel with the same name.
The anime also unveiled a teaser visual.
The Level 999 Villager anime will go live on July 2026.
The Villager of Level 999 is a Japanese light novel series authored by Koneko Hoshitsuki, with illustrations provided by Fuumi. The story first appeared as a web serialization on the user-submitted novel platform Shลsetsuka ni Narล, running from July 2015 through December 2018. It was subsequently picked up by Enterbrain (under Kadokawa), which released a total of eight printed volumes between April 2016 and January 2019.
A manga version, drawn by Kenichi Iwamoto, started appearing in Kadokawa Shoten’s seinen magazine Comp Ace in May 2017.
An anime adaptation, produced by the studio Brain’s Base, is scheduled to begin airing in July 2026.
The story takes place in a world where every person is assigned a specific class at birthโsuch as warrior, hero, magician, cleric, and many othersโwhich largely shapes their entire future and role in society. Among all these classes, the villager stands out as the weakest and most powerless one. Villagers possess no combat abilities and rely entirely on protection from those in stronger classes.
Koji Kagami belongs to this villager class. However, at just two years old, he realized that money was essential for a comfortable and secure lifeโand that the quickest path to earning it was by defeating monsters. Over the next 20 years, he dedicated himself relentlessly to hunting monsters. As a result, while the typical villager only reaches around level 10, Koji Kagami achieved the extraordinary feat of reaching level 999.
