“A Gentle Noble’s Vacation Recommendation” is a Japanese light novel series authored by Misaki and featuring illustrations by Sando. The story first debuted as an online serialization in January 2014 on the popular user-driven platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō. Following its success, TO Books picked it up for print, releasing nineteen main volumes along with two side stories starting from June 2018. An accompanying manga version, scripted by 8Key and drawn by Momochi, launched online through TO Books’ Comic Corona platform—powered by Nico Nico Seiga—in December 2018, with twelve compiled tankōbon editions to date. Tokyopop holds the North American licensing rights for this manga adaptation.
Story is as following:
“Though the circumstances remain a mystery, Lizel accepts the reality: he’s been transported to a parallel realm. Accustomed to the privileges of nobility in his homeland, he possesses no skills in self-protection or familiarity with everyday plebeian existence. In response, he enlists the aid of Gil, enlisting him as his personal guard. This alternate world bears striking resemblances to his own, yet it harbors unforeseen perils and unfamiliar regulations that could spell disaster.
Will Lizel ever find a way home? That’s anyone’s guess. For now, he views his unexpected exile simply as a welcome respite—a leisurely escape from the burdens of aristocratic obligations.”
