DanMachi Season 6 Anime Officially Confirmed With A Teaser Trailer

The TV anime adaptation of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? (commonly known as DanMachi) has received official confirmation for its 6th season today.

The light novel series Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, commonly abbreviated as DanMachi and also known in English as Familia Myth, is authored by Fujino Ōmori with illustrations provided by Suzuhito Yasuda. Since its debut in January 2013, SB Creative has released twenty-one volumes through their GA Bunko label.

The franchise includes two manga adaptations and an anime adaptation by J.C.Staff. The inaugural season broadcast from April to June 2015. An OVA arrived on December 7, 2016. In February 2018, announcements came for a second season plus an original film titled Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?: Arrow of the Orion, which debuted in theaters on February 15, 2019. The second season ran from July to September 2019. On September 27, 2019, a third season and an additional OVA were revealed; the third season, originally planned for July 2020, faced postponement because of the COVID-19 pandemic and ultimately aired from October to December 2020. The fourth season spanned July 2022 to March 2023, while the fifth season broadcast from October 2024 to March 2025.

On the spin-off side, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? On the Side: Sword Oratoria launched as a light novel series in January 2014, followed by Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?: Familia Chronicle (illustrated by Nilitsu) starting in March 2017. Both have their own manga versions, and Sword Oratoria received its anime adaptation, which aired from April to June 2017.

The narrative centers on Bell Cranel, a 14-year-old novice adventurer who serves as the only member of the Hestia Familia. Inspired by the renowned and formidable swordswoman Ais Wallenstein from the Loki Familia—after she rescues him from a deadly monster during an unexpected meeting—he resolves to match her strength. Unbeknownst to him, this determination awakens a unique skill called “Liaris Freese,” which dramatically accelerates his power growth due to his intense emotions. Throughout his dungeon explorations and efforts to grow stronger, Bell draws the interest of numerous characters, along with romantic interest from various girls, goddesses, and humans—most prominently Hestia herself. However, he remains entirely focused on Ais and never returns any of those affections.
