The Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina anime series is set to return with an all-new theatrical film project.
This exciting reveal came during the GA FES 2026 event, nearly six years after the original TV anime season premiered.

Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina, commonly known as Wandering Witch, is a popular Japanese light novel series authored by Jōgi Shiraishi with illustrations provided by Azure. Since its debut in April 2016, SB Creative has published the series under the GA Novel imprint, with a total of twenty-four volumes released as of early 2025 (with the twenty-fifth volume scheduled for March 2026).
A manga adaptation, illustrated by Itsuki Nanao, ran online from November 2018 through March 2024 on Square Enix’s Manga Up! platform and has been compiled into six tankōbon volumes. In North America, Yen Press holds the license for the light novels, while Square Enix licenses the manga.
The series received an anime television adaptation produced by studio C2C, which broadcast from October to December 2020. Recently, a brand-new anime film project has been officially announced.
This enchanting tale follows the travels of the young witch Elaina as she explores the world, encountering diverse people, cultures, and experiences along the way.
