Reborn as a Slime Saga, also known as Slime Reincarnation Chronicles or simply TenSura, is a Japanese fantasy light novel series penned by Fuse [ja] with illustrations by Mitz Vah. The tale centers on Satoru Mikami, an ordinary office worker who meets a tragic end only to awaken in a fantastical realm of magic and blades as a slime. Embracing his new form, he forges bonds with diverse creatures, ultimately founding a unique monster nation.
Initially shared online from 2013 to 2016 on the user-driven platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō, the series caught the attention of Micro Magazine, which began publishing it as a light novel in 2014. By January 2025, the series boasts twenty-two volumes. Yen Press secured the North American license, releasing the first volume in December 2017. The story has since expanded into a manga adaptation by Kodansha, complemented by five spin-off manga published by both Micro Magazine and Kodansha. An anime adaptation by Eight Bit premiered in October 2018, running until March 2019. A second season aired from January to September 2021, followed by an anime of the second spin-off manga from April to June 2021. A feature film hit theaters in November 2022, and a three-episode original net animation, Coleus Chronicles, debuted in November 2023. The third anime season aired from April to September 2024.
