Solo Leveling Franchise Might Be Cooking An Anime Movie – According To Rumors

The worldwide famous franchise, Solo Leveling has solidified its status as one of the top anime hits of 2024 and 2025, thanks to dropping two back-to-back seasons annually during the winter window—though the pattern is set to shift with the next installment. Drawing from Chugong’s acclaimed web novel and its manhwa counterpart, the franchise built a devoted worldwide following well ahead of the anime’s premiere. With the source materials having wrapped up their narratives ages ago, the animated version recently closed out the Jeju Island Arc. Expect the plot to ramp up the stakes even further, delving deeper into the grandest enigmas of its universe. Regrettably, amid all the buzz, it’s been several months since Season 2 wrapped in March, yet no word on Season 3 has surfaced officially.

Typically, blockbuster anime endings trigger swift sequel reveals, often on the spot or soon thereafter. This year’s Season 2 finale left plenty of lingering curiosities about Jinwoo’s path forward. Given the show’s overwhelming triumph, it’s a safe bet that the production team will commit to animating the entire saga, even if it drags out the anticipation for viewers. That said, buzz from trending X discussions points to Solo Leveling potentially unveiling a movie prior to diving into Season 3.

The scoop stems from a widely shared social media report, picked up by numerous sites and fueling excitement for an imminent cinematic reveal. Buoyed by the blockbuster vibes of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle and Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, enthusiasts are buzzing even harder at the prospect of an official film picking up Jinwoo’s saga, inching him nearer to uncovering the origins of the gates.

The anime adaptation of Solo Leveling, produced by A-1 Pictures, draws its story from the popular webtoon. Its debut season aired for 12 episodes between January and April 2024, featuring key staff like director Shunsuke Nakashige, character designer Tomoko Sudo, music composer Hiroyuki Sawano, and series composer Noboru Kimura.

The follow-up, Solo Leveling Season 2: Arise From the Shadow, spanned 13 episodes, airing from January to March 2025.

The tale kicked off as a web novel called Only I Level Up, penned by the pseudonymous author Chugong. It debuted in 2016, unfolding chapter by chapter on South Korea’s digital platform KakaoPage.

By 2018, the story transformed into a webtoon, a mobile-friendly digital comic, crafted by REDICE Studio, a South Korean outfit celebrated for its top-tier manhwa. The vivid artwork was brought to life by Jang Sung-rak, widely recognized under his alias DUBU.
