Jujutsu Kaisen To Have A Big Surprise Ahead Of Season 3 Premiere

The buzz for the third season of Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen kicked off in December 2023, and with the launch date drawing near, excitement is at a fever pitch.

Winter 2026 promises thrills for Jujutsu Kaisen aficionados, as the anime stages its return to bring the Culling Game to life—one of the franchise’s most electrifying storylines yet. Per a post from @WSJ_manga on X (Twitter), the series will snag the spotlight on the cover of Jump GIGA magazine’s Winter 2026 edition to herald the occasion. Outside of 2025, when the Winter installment arrived in January, the publication tends to unveil it during December’s final days. Assuming Jump GIGA adheres to its standard timeline, that bespoke artwork should surface well ahead of the Season 3 rollout.

Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 will be released on January 2026.

The Shibuya Incident and the initial two episodes of the Culling Game arc will be reimagined as a feature film, set to hit theaters on November 7th.

Jujutsu Kaisen, a gripping Japanese manga crafted by Gege Akutami, ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump from March 2018 until September 2024, with its narrative compiled into 30 tankōbon volumes. The tale centers on Yuji Itadori, a high schooler drawn into a clandestine group of Jujutsu Sorcerers tasked with vanquishing the formidable Curse, Ryomen Sukuna, whose essence Yuji unwittingly harbors. The series serves as a follow-up to Akutami’s earlier work, Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School, which appeared in Shueisha’s Jump Giga from April to July 2017 and was later compiled into a single volume, retroactively named Jujutsu Kaisen 0, in December 2018.

In North America, Viz Media holds the license for Jujutsu Kaisen’s English release, publishing the manga in print since December 2019. Shueisha also makes the series available in English via the Manga Plus digital platform. Additionally, two novels penned by Ballad Kitaguni hit shelves in May 2019 and January 2020. MAPPA’s anime adaptation brought the story to life, with its first season airing on MBS from October 2020 to March 2021, followed by a second season from July to December 2023. A sequel tackling the “Culling Game” arc is in the works.

As of September 2024, Jujutsu Kaisen, including its novels, digital editions, and Jujutsu Kaisen 0, has surpassed 100 million copies in circulation, cementing its status as one of the top-selling manga series ever.
