KADOKAWA recently revealed that the TV anime adaptation of Within the Villainess (also known as Akuyaku Reijō no Naka no Hito) is slated to premiere in 2027.
Along with the release date confirmation, they unveiled a teaser visual, a teaser trailer, and initial casting information for the project.
The anime adaptation was originally greenlit and announced back in May 2025.

Within the Villainess (Akuyaku Reijō no Naka no Hito: Danzai Sareta Tensei-sha no Tame Usotsuki Heroine ni Fukushū Itashimasu) is a Japanese light novel series authored by Makiburo, with illustrations provided by Mai Murasaki. The story first appeared as a web novel on the platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō starting in May 2020. It was subsequently picked up by Ichijinsha, which started releasing it in print under their Ichijinsha Novels imprint beginning in February 2021.
A manga version, drawn by Nazuna Shiraume, ran on the Pixiv Comic site as part of Ichijinsha’s Comic Lake label, with serialization taking place from November 2021 until May 2025.
An anime television adaptation, produced by Roll2, is scheduled to begin airing in 2027.
