So What’s Wrong with Getting Reborn as a Goblin? has officially been greenlit for a TV anime adaptation, complete with the reveal of its key production staff and leading voice cast.
The main character, Akira, will be brought to life by voice actor Kikunosuke Toya (known for roles like Denji in Chainsaw Man). Karen is voiced by Yoko Hikasa, while Chloe will be portrayed by Anzaki Tachibana (also listed as Azusa Tachibana in some sources).
This adaptation, produced by studio Bakkka, is slated to premiere in October 2026, building on the manga’s popularity as an isekai tale of a reincarnated salaryman thriving as an unusually long-lived goblin in a dangerous fantasy world. A teaser visual has also been released alongside the announcements to ramp up the excitement!

So What’s Wrong with Getting Reborn as a Goblin? is a Japanese manga created by writer Nazuna Miki and artist Tsukasa Araki. It started serialization on Shueisha’s Tonari no Young Jump platform in February 2020 and has been collected into 14 volumes as of March 2026 (with the 14th volume released recently).
A television anime adaptation, produced by studio Bakkka, is scheduled to debut in October 2026.
The story follows Akira Yagami, an ordinary salaryman who loses his life after heroically pushing a child out of the path of a speeding truck. He awakens in a fantasy world, reincarnated not as a human hero but as a lowly goblin. In this realm, goblins typically have an extremely brief existence, lasting only about seven days. Thanks to his selfless sacrifice in his previous life, however, Akira is granted an exceptionally extended lifespan of around 80 years.
His reincarnation happens right around the time the previous Demon Lord has fallen, yet the world remains on the brink of new dangers and turmoil. Armed with his human knowledge, unique abilities, and an unusually long life for his kind, Akira sets out to survive, grow stronger, and perhaps reshape the fate of goblins in this unpredictable isekai setting.
