Golden Kamuy anime‘s official website unveiled the preview and synopsis for the 5th season’s upcoming episode 6.
Synopsis for the episode is as following:
“ After revealing the changes in Wilk since he left Sofia for Hokkaido, Lieutenant Tsurumi begins to talk about his journey since then. While Wilk and his men are tracking down the old man who knows the location of the gold, Lieutenant Tsurumi and his subordinates contact Ariko’s father, who was the first to see the old man. From what he says, Lieutenant Tsurumi becomes convinced that Wilk is a guerrilla who once visited his photo studio. And by telling Ariko’s father about Wilk’s past, a major rift forms between the Ainu people searching for the gold…”

Golden Kamuy is a Japanese manga crafted by Satoru Noda, blending historical adventure with cultural depth. Published in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump from August 2014 to April 2022, it spans 31 tankōbon volumes. The narrative trails Saichi Sugimoto, a battle-hardened survivor of the Russo-Japanese War, as he embarks on a perilous hunt for a hidden Ainu gold fortune, guided by Asirpa, a spirited young Ainu girl. The story’s Ainu language authenticity is overseen by Hiroshi Nakagawa, a linguist specializing in Ainu at Chiba University.
The manga inspired an anime adaptation by Geno Studio, with its first two seasons airing from April to December 2018, followed by a third season from October to December 2020. Brain’s Base took over for the fourth season, broadcast from October 2022 to June 2023. A live-action film hit Japanese theaters in January 2024, with its saga extending into a live-action TV series that debuted in October 2024. Viz Media has handled the English-language release of the manga since 2016.
By July 2024, Golden Kamuy had surpassed 29 million copies in circulation. Its acclaim includes the 2016 Manga Taishō (ninth edition) and the 2018 Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize (22nd).
