The narrative centers on a doctor and his former patient, reborn as twin siblings to a celebrated Japanese pop star. Together, they navigate the glittering yet treacherous world of Japan’s entertainment industry, facing its challenges and triumphs as they grow. Licensed by Yen Press for North American audiences, the series is also available on Shueisha’s Manga Plus platform for simultaneous global release.
The manga’s success sparked an anime adaptation by Doga Kobo, with its debut season of 11 episodes airing from April to June 2023. A second season, spanning 13 episodes, followed from July to October 2024. Fans can anticipate a third season slated for 2026. Sentai Filmworks secured the North American rights, offering an English-dubbed version on Hidive starting in May 2023.
By November 2024, “Oshi no Ko” had achieved a remarkable milestone, with over 20 million copies in circulation worldwide.
