Dr. Stone (stylized as DR.STONE) is a captivating Japanese manga crafted by writer Riichiro Inagaki and brought to life with stunning visuals by South Korean artist Boichi. Originally published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump from March 2017 to March 2022, the series spans 27 tankōbon volumes. It centers on Senku Ishigami, a brilliant young scientist determined to resurrect human civilization using the power of science after a mysterious event petrifies humanity for over 3,700 years.
In North America, Viz Media secured the manga’s license, while Shueisha made it accessible in English through their Manga Plus platform and app starting in January 2019. The story’s popularity led to a dynamic anime adaptation by TMS Entertainment, which debuted on Tokyo MX in July 2019 and ran until December that year. A second season, Dr. Stone: Stone Wars, aired from January to March 2021. A special episode, Dr. Stone: Ryusui, bridged the narrative between the second and third seasons, airing in July 2022. The third season, Dr. Stone: New World, was split into two parts, with the first airing from April to June 2023 and the second from October to December 2023. The fourth and final season, Dr. Stone: Science Future, launched in January 2025 and is set to unfold across three split cours.
