Yowayowa Teacher anime‘s official website unveiled the teaser trailer for the upcoming NSWF anime that confirms April 2026 release date.
Yowayowa Sensei is a Japanese manga created by writer and illustrator Kamio Fukuchi. The series launched in Kodansha‘s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in November 2022 and has been collected into fifteen tankōbon volumes as of November 2025. A television anime adaptation, produced by Brain’s Base, is scheduled to debut in April 2026.
The story centers on Akihito Abikura, a second-year high school student. His new homeroom and English teacher is Hiyori Hiwamura, a recent university graduate who struggles with extreme shyness. Her timid demeanor and habit of relying on a notebook covered in sticky notes create an awkward first impression among the students. This leads to wild rumors that she’s casting curses on them, earning her the nickname “Scary Teacher” and widespread fear and misunderstanding.
When Akihito discovers the truth—that she’s far from frightening and simply misunderstood—he witnesses her practicing lessons alone in an empty classroom, speaking only to a stuffed animal. Moved by her efforts, he decides to step in and support her in overcoming her social anxiety and building confidence as a teacher.
