New Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Anime Confirms July Release Date

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha anime‘s official X account unveiled recently that the new Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha anime will premiere on July 2026.

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha is a Japanese anime TV series directed by Akiyuki Shinbo, scripted by Masaki Tsuzuki, and animated by Seven Arcs. It serves as a key entry in the broader Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha franchise.

The show aired 13 episodes across independent Japanese television stations from October to December 2004. As a spin-off from the Triangle Heart series, it centers on Nanoha Takamachi, a young girl who aids the mage Yūno in retrieving 21 powerful artifacts known as the Jewel Seeds.

Masaki Tsuzuki later novelized the anime, with Megami Bunko releasing the book in August 2005. King Records produced multiple soundtrack albums and drama CDs tied to the series.

The follow-up, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A’s, also from Seven Arcs, debuted in October 2005 on Chiba TV. A theatrical movie retelling of the original series, produced by Seven Arcs, hit Japanese cinemas on January 23, 2010, alongside a companion manga that ran in Megami Magazine from November 2009 to March 2011.

In North America, Geneon Entertainment announced an English-dubbed license at Anime Expo 2007. Distribution shifted amid company changes from late 2007 to mid-2008, leading Funimation to release it in a single-DVD box set about 18 months later. Several English production credits were omitted from that edition. The series is currently licensed by Discotek Media.

In Japan, the DVD volumes achieved peak positions ranging from 22 to 70 (and lower) on Oricon’s Animation DVD chart, each staying listed for a minimum of two weeks.
