Skeleton Knight in Another World (known in Japanese as Gaikotsu Kishi-sama, Tadaima Isekai e Odekake-chū) is a popular Japanese light novel series penned by Ennki Hakari, with striking illustrations by KeG. The story first appeared online in October 2014 on the user-generated platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō, before Overlap picked it up for publication. Since June 2015, they’ve released 10 volumes under their Overlap Novels label.
The series has also inspired a manga adaptation, drawn by Akira Sawano, which has been running on Overlap’s Comic Gardo site since February 2017 and compiled into 14 tankōbon volumes so far. Both the light novels and manga are available in English thanks to Seven Seas Entertainment’s North American licensing.
The anime adaptation, produced by Studio Kai and Hornets, originally broadcast from April to June 2022. Excitingly, a second season—now handled by Aura Studio—is confirmed to premiere in July 2026, bringing back the hilarious and heroic adventures of the overpowered skeleton knight in his isekai world!
