Scenes from Awajima Anime’s New Trailer Goes Live

Scenes from Awajima anime‘s official website has just unveiled a brand new trailer for the up and coming Madhouse anime.

The trailer highlights the tense and uneasy dynamic between scholarship student Emi Okabe and the privileged Katsurako Ibuki. In the present timeline, Katsurako now serves as a teacher, yet she remains deeply troubled and shadowed by the lingering memories of their shared past.

The trailer also features a preview clip of the newly revealed opening theme song “blue hour,” performed by Hana Hope.

Awajima Hyakkei (also known as One Hundred Views of Awajima or Scenes from Awajima) is a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Takako Shimura. The series originally ran on Ohta Publishing’s PocoPoco website from June 2011 through 2016, before continuing on the Ohta Web Comic platform from July 2016 until its conclusion in March 2024. It has been collected into five tankōbon volumes, released between April 2015 and May 2024. A television anime adaptation, produced by the renowned studio Madhouse, is scheduled to premiere in April 2026.

The anime follows a heartfelt coming-of-age tale centered on aspiring young girls enrolled at the prestigious Awajima Opera School in Japan, all striving to achieve their dream of making their stage debuts. Their school life is portrayed through an omnibus structure, exploring the complex emotions of admiration for one another’s talents, fierce competition, deepening friendships, and occasional jealousy amid their shared journey toward maturity and self-discovery.
