A new theatrical anime film for Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, referred to as Kaguya-sama: Love Is War The Final Chapter, has been announced to serve as the conclusive ending for the anime adaptation. The project features an original story developed under the supervision of the series’ creator, Aka Akasaka.

Kaguya-sama: Love Is War is a manga series from Japan, created by author and artist Aka Akasaka. It initially appeared in Shueisha’s seinen magazine Miracle Jump between May 2015 and January 2016, before moving to Weekly Young Jump, where it continued from March 2016 until November 2022. The individual chapters were compiled into 28 tankōbon volumes. In North America, Viz Media holds the license for the English edition.
The anime adaptation, produced by A-1 Pictures, debuted in 2019. Subsequent entries included a second season in 2020, an OVA in 2021, and a third season in 2022. The anime film Kaguya-sama: Love Is War – The First Kiss That Never Ends hit theaters in December 2022. Additionally, a television special called The Stairway to Adulthood (also known as The Steps to Become an Adult) premiered in 2025. A live-action movie, directed by Hayato Kawai, came out in September 2019.
As of December 2022, the manga surpassed 22 million copies in circulation, ranking it among the all-time best-selling manga series. It also earned the 65th Shogakukan Manga Award in the general category in 2020.
