Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Episode 8 Delayed For One Week

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 is set to broadcast a special recap episode next week in place of a new installment. Episode 8, titled “Tokyo No. 1 Colony, Part 2,” has been rescheduled to air on February 26, 2026.

This recap special—described as a re-edited compilation—will revisit key moments from the Culling Game arc up to this point, incorporating newly recorded narration to provide refreshed context and highlights from the ongoing storyline.

The shift stems from broadcast scheduling adjustments in Japan, where the recap program will begin 94 minutes later than the series’ standard timeslot. Additional time changes remain possible, as networks may extend coverage for the ongoing Winter Olympics events.

This planned one-week intermission allows the production team to maintain the high animation quality seen throughout the season’s Culling Game adaptation, rather than indicating any production issues. Fans can expect regular weekly episodes to resume following Episode 8.

Opening theme “AIZO” will be performed by King Gnu.

The anime also unveiled new cast members:

  • Kazuya Nakai as Kinji Hakari
  • Yuki Sakakihara as Kirara Hoshi
  • Tomokazu Sugita as Hiromi Higuruma
  • Satoshi Tsuruoka as Fumihiko Takaba
  • Yutaka Aoyama as Reggie Star
  • Neeko as Kogane

Release date for Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 anime!

Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 anime premiered on January 8, 2026.

Jujutsu Kaisen, a gripping Japanese manga crafted by Gege Akutami, ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump from March 2018 until September 2024, with its narrative compiled into 30 tankōbon volumes. The tale centers on Yuji Itadori, a high schooler drawn into a clandestine group of Jujutsu Sorcerers tasked with vanquishing the formidable Curse, Ryomen Sukuna, whose essence Yuji unwittingly harbors. The series serves as a follow-up to Akutami’s earlier work, Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School, which appeared in Shueisha’s Jump Giga from April to July 2017 and was later compiled into a single volume, retroactively named Jujutsu Kaisen 0, in December 2018.

In North America, Viz Media holds the license for Jujutsu Kaisen’s English release, publishing the manga in print since December 2019. Shueisha also makes the series available in English via the Manga Plus digital platform. Additionally, two novels penned by Ballad Kitaguni hit shelves in May 2019 and January 2020. MAPPA’s anime adaptation brought the story to life, with its first season airing on MBS from October 2020 to March 2021, followed by a second season from July to December 2023. A sequel tackling the “Culling Game” arc is in the works.

As of September 2024, Jujutsu Kaisen, including its novels, digital editions, and Jujutsu Kaisen 0, has surpassed 100 million copies in circulation, cementing its status as one of the top-selling manga series ever.
