Dark Moon: The Blood Altar anime‘s official website recently unveiled that the upcoming series will premiere on January 9, 2026.
Studio TROYCA will animate the anime series.
Dark Moon: The Blood Altar serves as a South Korean manhwa, presented in webtoon format and created by HYBE alongside Naver Webtoon, while a distinct web novel featuring a different narrative path appears on Wattpad. An English print edition came out under Yen Press’ Ize Press label, and the Korean edition was handled by Haksan Publishing.
The series unfolded from January 15, 2022, until August 12, 2023, spanning a total of 70 chapters.
Its characters and plot draw inspiration from the South Korean boy group Enhypen, along with elements from their music videos. The concept originated in their “Drunk-Dazed” video, which debuted on April 26, 2021.
As the inaugural entry in the Dark Moon series, it encompasses Dark Moon: The Blood Altar centered on Enhypen, the prequel titled Dark Moon: Children of Vamfield, and the spin-off prequel Dark Moon: The Grey City involving the Japanese boy band &Team.
