On Tuesday, an official website launched to reveal that a television anime adaptation is in production for the manga The Duke’s Son Claims He Won’t Love Me Yet Showers Me with Adoration, created by writer Kei Misawa and illustrator Natsu Mizuno.
The series is slated to debut in July on TV Asahi and its sister channel BS Asahi.

Zero-G and Glass are animating the upcoming anime, Hitoyuki Matsui serves as director.
The Duke’s Son Claims He Won’t Love Me Yet Showers Me with Adoration is a Japanese manga series created by writer Kei Misawa and illustrator Natsu Mizuno. It started serialization in February 2021 through Flex Comix and BookLive’s Comic Arc imprint, as well as on Flex Comix’s Comic Polaris platform. As of October 2024, the series has been collected into four tankลbon volumes.
A television anime adaptation, produced by studios Zero-G and Grass, is scheduled to debut in July 2026.
The plot centers on Elsa Jukarainen (also spelled Yukarainen in some sources), a young woman from a once-noble but now fallen aristocratic family living modestly in the rural regions of the kingdom of Ralt. Out of the blue, she receives a marriage proposal from Julius Roias (or Roas), the heir to a powerful ducal house and a highly prominent noble.
Both Elsa and her family are stunned by the unexpected offer, considering their diminished status and provincial lifestyle, yet she ultimately agrees to the union. The couple meets face-to-face for the first time on their actual wedding day. However, right after the ceremony concludes, Julius undergoes a dramatic shift in demeanorโhe coldly declares that he has no real intention of loving her and that the marriage is purely a matter of convenience.
From that point onward, Elsa settles into her new role as Julius’s wife, striving to fulfill her duties faithfully while quietly working to comprehend his true feelings and the reasons behind his contradictory behavior.
