Tank Chair Anime Confirmed For Fall 2026

The Japanese entertainment giant Bandai Namco Filmworks confirmed that Manabu Yashiro’s Tank Chair manga is getting an anime.

The anime also unveiled a new key visual.

Tank Chair is a Japanese manga created by Manabu Yashiro, who handles both the writing and artwork. The series launched in November 2022 on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket digital platform and mobile app.

An anime television adaptation, produced by Polygon Pictures, is scheduled to begin airing in the fourth quarter of 2026.

The story centers on Nagi, a skilled assassin operating on Gui Cheng Island—the most perilous city known across the universe. After taking a bullet to protect his younger sister Shizuka Taira, he suffered catastrophic injuries that left him confined to a wheelchair and trapped in a persistent coma. He only regains consciousness when a powerful killing instinct surges within him, transforming him back into a lethal force—this time from the seat of a heavily weaponized wheelchair.

Shizuka now searches relentlessly for opponents dangerous enough to jolt her brother fully awake and keep him conscious. By accepting high-stakes assassination contracts, she ensures Nagi has targets worthy of his deadly skills whenever he awakens. The more perilous the job, the greater the chance of triggering a lasting recovery. Shizuka believes that one exceptionally brutal confrontation will finally break him free from the coma for good.
