The live-action adaptation of Sakamoto Days has dropped a fresh trailer packed with explosive, high-octane action sequences.
It also gives fans their first listen to the movie’s newly revealed theme song, “BANG!!”, performed by Snow Man.
Yuichi Fukuda serves as the writer and director.
The film will go live on April 29, 2026 in Japan.
SAKAMOTO DAYS, a Japanese manga crafted by writer and artist Yuto Suzuki, has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump since November 2020. As of June 2025, its chapters have been compiled into 22 tankōbon volumes. The series is also available in English through Viz Media and the Manga Plus platform. By June 2025, the manga had surpassed 12 million copies in circulation.
The narrative centers on Taro Sakamoto, a former elite assassin who has traded his deadly past for a tranquil life as a devoted family man. His quiet existence is upended when old foes and associates from his hitman days track him down, seeking vengeance. To safeguard his loved ones, Sakamoto must rely on his unparalleled fighting prowess to confront a range of dangerous opponents, all while striving to preserve his unassuming, everyday persona.
A television anime adaptation, brought to life by TMS Entertainment, was broadcast from January to March 2025.
