Kyoto Animation recently unveiled a video that confirms that Masaoki Shindō’s RuriDragon manga will be adapted into an anime.
The creator of the manga shared an illustration to celebrate the announcement!
RuriDragon is a Japanese web manga created and illustrated by Masaoki Shindo [ja]. It began as a one-shot story in Shueisha’s Jump Giga magazine back in December 2020, prior to its full serialization in Weekly Shōnen Jump from June 2022 onward. After an 18-month break, the series shifted to the digital edition of Weekly Shōnen Jump and the Shōnen Jump+ platform in April 2024. To date, its installments have been compiled into four tankōbon volumes through November 2025.
Plot for the anime is as following:
“One morning, Ruri Aoki awakens to discover horns sprouting from her forehead. Upon questioning her mother, she learns the startling truth: she is part dragon. Even with this bombshell, Ruri pushes forward with her everyday routine, only to find it far tougher to navigate than anticipated.”
