On Wednesday, Viz Media and Adult Swim released an English-dubbed trailer for the anime adaptation of Shū Sakuratani’s Rooster Fighter manga. The trailer confirms that the series will make its debut on Adult Swim‘s Toonami block on March 14 at 12:00 a.m. EDT—which corresponds to the early hours of March 15.
This marks the U.S. television premiere for the action-packed series, with episodes airing weekly in English dub format.
Rooster Fighter is a Japanese web manga created by writer and illustrator Shū Sakuratani. The series has been running on Hero’s Inc.’s Comiplex platform since December 2020. An anime television adaptation, produced by Sanzigen in collaboration with Sola Entertainment, is scheduled to begin airing in March 2026.
The story is set in a Japan where, three years earlier, mutant demons started emerging across the country. While some of these creatures are either harmless or even beneficial to humans, many others pose serious threats. These mutants originate from people overwhelmed by intense emotional pain or unprocessed trauma, gradually evolving into more intelligent, powerful, and dangerous beings that spread chaos.
Roaming alone through the cities of Japan is a solitary rooster named Keiji. He battles and defeats any mutant demons he comes across on his journey. His true purpose, however, is far more personal: to track down and eliminate the fearsome mutant known as “The White Demon”—the one responsible for killing his sister—in order to exact revenge.
