The Japanese publishing Kadokawa unveiled that the Kyōkai no Melody (Melody of the Boundary) light novel is getting an anime adaptation.
“Kyōkai no Melody” is a Japanese light novel series authored by Toshiya Miyata and adorned with illustrations by Lam. The story launched its publication journey via ASCII Media Works’s Media Works Bunko imprint in May 2024, with the follow-up volume scheduled to arrive in November 2025. Meanwhile, a manga rendition, drawn by Ikuta Sugimoto, kicked off its run in Kadokawa Shoten’s Young Ace magazine starting in May 2025.
Story of the series is as following:
“The narrative centers on Kyōsuke, a musician who endured the heartbreaking loss of his partner Kai right on the cusp of their major breakthrough, prompting him to withdraw completely from the world of music. Three years on, Kai makes an abrupt return into Kyōsuke’s life, confronting him with the stark truth that remaining idle is no different from being deceased.”
