Fire Force is a Japanese manga crafted by writer and artist Atsushi Ohkubo. It ran in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine from September 2015 until February 2022, compiled into 34 tankōbon volumes. Kodansha USA holds the license for its English release in North America. As of May 2022, the Fire Force manga had surpassed 20 million copies in circulation.
The story centers on a young pyrokinetic who enlists in a specialized unit tasked with battling fiery monsters endangering Tokyo, the last standing city in a world devastated by a massive blaze. The manga shares ties with Ohkubo’s earlier work, Soul Eater.
An anime adaptation by David Production aired its first season from July to December 2019, followed by a second season from July to December 2020. The third and final season, split into two parts, began with its first cour from April to June 2025, and the second cour is set to premiere in January 2026.
