Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Unveils Its Most Captivating Romantic Tangle

While Boruto: Two Blue Vortex awaits an anime adaptation, its manga introduces thrilling new dynamics to the ninja realm. Boruto Uzumaki, clashing with enemies and erstwhile allies, strikes risky deals to combat the Divine Trees.

Warning!!! Spoiler Alert!!!

The latest chapter delivers more than just Boruto’s striking conversation—a budding love triangle adds a fresh layer of intrigue for the young hero. Following the fall of the Divine Tree Matsuri, Konohamaru and Moegi reunite emotionally. Observing this, Sarada confides in Sumire about her feelings for Boruto, suggesting her affection might fuel her dream of becoming Konoha’s next Hokage. Sumire, unwilling to back down, vows to compete for Boruto’s affection, igniting a fierce romantic contest.

Sarada says to Sumire the following:

“One day I realized, I was spending more and more time thinking about him. You know, trouble seems to follow him. He’s always in a bind. I constantly worried about him, as one fo his teammates. Before long, I started to get confused about whether my feelings only existed because we were on the same team or if it was something more. Spending energy over such things made me a complete loser, which made me wonder whether I had any right to still try to become Hokage. But you see, I’ve decided to stop running. I also like Boruto.”

Sumire boldly declared she’s done holding back, yet her bond with Sarada remains unshaken. The two girls, laughing and hand-in-hand, leave the scene, unaware of Eida’s watchful eyes. Eida, overhearing their exchange, feels a pang of exclusion despite lacking romantic feelings for Boruto. The rivalry between Sarada and Sumire is just igniting, but it’s not the only drama unfolding in the Hidden Leaf Village. Himawari grapples with her evolving connection to Kurama, honing her skills with the Nine-Tailed Fox, while Boruto strikes a risky pact with Momoshiki that could unleash chaos surpassing the Divine Trees.

Boruto, a Japanese manga by Ukyō Kodachi (volumes 1–13) and Mikio Ikemoto, with Masashi Kishimoto’s oversight, is a spin-off and sequel to Naruto, following Naruto Uzumaki’s son, Boruto, and his ninja team. Launched as Boruto: Naruto Next Generations in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump in May 2016, it moved to V Jump in July 2019. Kishimoto took over writing from Kodachi in November 2020. The first part ended in April 2023, and after a brief hiatus, the second part, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, began in August 2023.

Originating from Shueisha’s sequel proposal, which Kishimoto declined, he suggested Mikio Ikemoto as artist and Ukyō Kodachi, writer of Boruto: Naruto the Movie, for the story. A 293-episode anime by Pierrot, with Kodachi’s story supervision (episodes 1–216), aired on TV Tokyo from April 2017 to March 2023, with a second part in development. The anime starts as a prequel, unlike the manga’s film retelling. Light novels complement the series.

Praised for its mix of new and legacy characters, the anime shines, while the manga’s serious, Boruto-focused narrative captivates readers.
