The story first appeared on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website and was later released in print format with illustrations by Jimmy from Kodansha, starting in July 2020. As of February 2026, eight volumes have been published.
A manga adaptation illustrated by Natsumi Inoue began serialization on the Magazine Pocket website in June 2020. By January 2026, the individual chapters had been compiled into twenty tankōbon volumes.
An anime television series adaptation produced by Studio Mother premiered from April to June 2024. The second season aired from September to December of the same year, while a third season is set to debut in Q4 2026.
The plot follows a Japanese salaryman who dies and is reincarnated in another world as Ars Louvent, the heir to a noble family. He soon discovers that he possesses a unique skill allowing him to appraise the talents and abilities of others. Using this power, Ars seeks out and recruits exceptionally gifted individuals skilled in magic, swordsmanship, strategy, and diplomacy, gathering them as loyal servants and allies. He prepares for the looming conflict over the throne’s succession. After showcasing his capabilities, he is appointed Lord of Canarre. Before long, he finds himself drawn into war against the neighboring Duchy of Seitz and its wicked lord.
