The official site for Makoto Shinkai‘s new anime film Weathering With You (Tenki no Ko) reported on April 12 that the film is getting a novel adjustment.
Likewise with other novel adjustments of his works, Shinkai himself is composing the novel. The novel will be accessible carefully and in print on July 18.
The film will open in Japan on July 19. Shinkai affirmed that the film will get an overall discharge, and discharges have just been chosen for North America, Europe, Asia, and South America.

The Weathering With You film‘s official description is:
“High school student Hodaka Morishima leaves his home on an isolated island and moves to Tokyo, but he immediately becomes broke. He lives his days in isolation, but finally finds a job as a writer for a shady occult magazine. After he starts his job, the weather has been rainy day after day. In a corner of the crowded and busy city, Hodaka meets a young girl named Hina Amano. Due to certain circumstances, Hina and her younger brother live together, but have a cheerful and sturdy life. Hina also has a certain power: the power to stop the rain and clear the sky.”
Weathering With You (天気の子 Tenki no Ko, actually “Child Weather”) is an up and coming Japanese animated film composed and coordinated by Makoto Shinkai and delivered by CoMix Wave Films, following the 2016 film Your Name.
