The official site for the anime film of Kentetsu Takamori‘s Buddhist book Tannishō o Hiraku (Opening the Tannishō) streamed the trailer on Friday.
The film stars Kōji Ishizaka as Shinran, and Toshiki Masuda as Yuien. The film is second in an arrangement after Naze Ikiru: Rennyo Shōnin to Yoshizaki Enjō, Studio DEEN’s 2016 film that is likewise founded on a Buddhist content by Takamori.
The film focuses on Yuien, an agitated young fellow. He meets the Buddhist priest Shinran, and tunes in to his lessons. Shinran takes him on as his follower, and they travel together, with encounters both upbeat and awful anticipating them out and about.
The film is going to hit the theaters on May 24.
Kentetsu Takamori and Ichimannendo distributed the Tannishō o Hiraku book in 2008, and the distributer likewise distributed the book in English with the title Unlocking TANNISHO: Shinran’s Words on the Pure Land Path by Kentetsu Takamori.
