The live-action film of Yasuhisa Hara‘s Kingdom manga sold 506,861 tickets to procure 690,219,500 yen (about US$6.17 million) in its initial three days from Friday through Sunday.

The film positioned at #2 for the Saturday-Sunday weekend. TOHO is going for the film to gain 4 billion yen (about US$35.7 million).

Shinsuke Satō (live-action Gantz, Death Note Light up the NEW world, Bleach) directed the film. Sony Pictures Japan delivered the film. ONE OK ROCK played out the signature tune “Squandered Nights” for the film.

The film depicts the life of Li Xin, a previous general of Qin, from his adolescence as a vagrant through his military profession amid the Warring States time of antiquated China.

Kingdom (キングダム Kingudamu) is a Japanese manga arrangement composed and delineated by Yasuhisa Hara. The manga gives a fictionalized record of the Warring States time frame principally through the encounters of the war vagrant Xin and his companions as he battles to turn into the best broad under the sky, and in doing as such, binding together China without precedent for history.

The film was worldwide discharged on April 19, 2019.
