The anime fandom has been hit hard today as reports from Brazil confirm that Orlando Drummond, who voiced Gennai in the Digimon Adventure series, has passed away at age of 101.

The legendary voice entertainer was in and out of medical clinics this year because of a continuous urinary lot disease from May. Till now, no reason for death has been shared.

Orlando Drummond Cardoso was born on October 18, 1919 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

He is mostly famous for his works as Seu Peru in the series Escolinha do Professor Raimundo and also as the voice of Scooby-Doo, Alf, and Popeye.

He started working in 1942 as a foley artist and, with assistance from Paulo Gracindo, began his dubbing vocation. He additionally filled in as an entertainer in the movies Rei do Movimento (1954) and Angu de Caroço (1955), however, he is basically known for his naming works during the 1950s. He acted additionally in the telenovela Caça Talentos as Zarathustra from 1996 to 1998.
