The most recent episodes of Demon Slayer Season 3 have been delving into Mist Hashira’s background, but the flashback from Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc’s most recent episode revealed the deadliest incident Muichiro had completely forgotten about.

The most recent episode of the Demon Slayer anime has returned Muichiro to center stage as he struggles to deal with Gyokko’s peculiar talents too, whereas the majority of Demon Slayer Season 3 has thus far concentrated on how Tanjiro Kamado and the others are with Hantengu’s strange capabilities.

Muichiro was in a frightening position after the Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc because, although being able to escape Gyokko’s captivity with Kotetsu’s assistance, he still had a big mountain to climb to complete the remaining battle. The fact that Muichiro, who was previously amnesic, was able to achieve a significant breakthrough and advance to a new level of strength by recalling a particularly upsetting event from his past—the passing of his brother—makes things even more eye-opening.

Muichiro looks back into his history in Demon Slayer eeason 3 episode 8 as it is revealed that he has been having memory problems and that this is why he has been so distant from the other characters. Muichiro and his twin brother Yuichiro were left on their own after losing both their parents in the same day. When a demon attacked the two of them, things between Yuichiro and Muichiro changed from being chilly to being kind. Although Yuichiro was injured in the process, Muichiro’s immense wrath allowed him to pin the demon down with vicious attacks till dawn.

In spite of Yuichiro’s death during the attack, Muichiro discovered that Yuichiro had only been harsh with him because it was the only way he truly knew how to care for his brother. But as Muichiro prepared to face Gyokko fully as Demon Slayer Season 3 entered its final slate of episodes, he was able to acquire a Demon Slayer Mark of his own by recalling this wrath and recalling what led him to this point as a Hashira.

Demon Slayer season 3 episode 9 is titled “Kasumi Pillar Tokitou Muichiro”, and the synopsis is as following:

“Muichiro, who has more goldfish demons, heads to the work hut where the iron iron mound and the iron hole forest are. There, Tamatsubo is trying to take Tetsuanamori hostage in order to break Kotetsuzuka’s concentration as he continues to sharpen his sword. Muichiro rushes in at the last minute, and with the new Nichirin sword he received from Tetsuanamori, he challenges Tamatsubo to a rematch!”
