Since the first season of the Demon Slayer anime, the series’ protagonist Tanjiro has encountered a few of the Hashira in various arcs, but his first actual encounter with the Mist Hashira, Muichiro Tokito, has revealed what will set Muichiro apart from the other Hashira Tanjiro has encountered so far.

Tanjiro has benefited greatly from the Hashira fighters since their first appearance and full lineup revelation in the first season as the anime progresses and he faces tougher demon opponents than ever before.

The first episode of Demon Slayer Season 3 promised that Tanjiro would engage in combat with two Hashira fighters for the Swordsmith Village Arc from the first Demon Slayer manga by Koyoharu Gotoge. Tanjiro was fully introduced to the Love Hashira, Mitsuri Kanroji, in the first episode of this series, although his interactions with Muichiro were very different from those with the other Hashiras he had previously encountered. Muichiro is the realist and has the coldest personality of the group.

Episode 2 of Demon Slayer season 3 anime takes up just after Tanjiro saw Muichiro quarrel with a young village lad in the forest. It turned out that Muichiro had been pressuring the youngster to use an old training doll that belonged to the boy’s family. However, the fact that he is speaking bluntly to someone who is significantly weaker than him pisses Tanjiro off. Because Muichiro lacks a filter, he expresses his belief that his Hashira strength makes him far more valuable than others.

Although Tanjiro acknowledges that Muichiro is expressing the truth, he is more irritated by Muichiro’s candor than with any true malice behind his words or deeds. Although Muichiro is younger than the other Hashira, he has already developed to be so powerful. There are now even more questions about what distinguishes Muichiro from the other Hashira she has met thanks to the fact that his family has ties to the Sun Breathing practices.
