Thanks to the stunning animation in Demon Slayer, even the most tragic defeats are worth repeating. Characters in Demon Slayer are frequently sent out with care, whether they are good or evil, and this week’s death of an Upper Moon in season 3 proved as much.
The most recent episode of the anime concluded Mist Hashira‘s conflict with Gyokko. While Muichiro kept fighting after unlocking a fresh mark, the demon went so far as to reveal his ultimate form. Even though the decisive bout was occasionally tight, Muichiro’s victory was unquestionable.
To vanquish Gyokko, The Mist Hashira reached a new level. The Hashira were able to kill the Upper Moon because Muichiro was able to traverse Gyokko while becoming one with the mist.
The sequence was not as exciting as Tengen’s battle with Gyutaro, but that was not its intended purpose. As the Flame Hashira that he was, Rengoku died in a blaze of glory, and Muichiro triumphed quietly. Gyokko was rendered incompetent by Muichiro’s use of the mist, allowing him to draw his blade. The Upper Moon was quickly beheaded by the Mist Hashira, and the ominous monster was utterly shocked by his own defeat.
Demon Slayer season 3 episode 10 is titled “Love Pillar / Mitsuri Kanroji”, and the synopsis is as following:

Tanjiro is swallowed by a wooden dragon while being forced to defend against wooden dragons who use the power of four demons of emotions. At the moment of desperation, Mitsuri rushes over and rescues Tanjiro. And in order to save the captured Nezuko and Genya, he confronts Haten!“
