GKIDS declared on Wednesday that it has obtained North American dissemination rights for Studio 4°C’s anime film of Daisuke Igarashi‘s Children of the Sea (KaijÅ« no Kodomo) manga. The organization will screen the film dramatically in Japanese and English in 2019.

GKIDS depicts the story:
At the point when Ruka was more youthful, she saw an apparition in the water at the aquarium where her father works. Presently she feels drawn toward the aquarium and the two secretive young men she meets there Umi and Sora. They were raised by dugongs and hear indistinguishable unusual calls from the ocean from she does. The movie will open in Japan on June 7.
Joe Hisaishi of Studio Ghibl acclaim is forming the music for the film. Ayumu Watanabe (Space Brothers, After the Rain) is coordinating, and Kenichi Konishi (Tokyo Godfathers, The Tale of the Princess Kaguya) is the movement chief and character fashioner.
