The latest trailer for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 2 – The Separation is setting up Uryu Ishida’s surprising villain role when the anime returns.

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War will finally return to screens later this Summer with its second wave of episodes. The first part of the series finished with a sinister sequence that hinted that Uryu had not only been approached by the Sternritter throughout all of the fighting in the Soul Society, but had also been considering joining them. This turned proved to be the case.

The most recent teaser for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 2 reveals that Uryu has not only joined the Sternritter ranks but also that, in spite of opposition from the other Sternritter troops, Yhwach is appointing Uryu as his successor. Now we just have to wait and see what Uryu has in store for the upcoming wave of Bleach episodes this summer.

Thankfully, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 2 – Uryu’s new villainous role won’t be revealed for too much longer. Beginning on July 8th, The Separation will have its U.S. premiere on Hulu. In the trailer, Uryu is shown joining the Sternritter ranks and soon rising to the position of Yhwach’s new right hand man. However, since it might actually go either way, there is still no indication of what Uryu is thinking.
