The most recent chapter of the Black Clover manga has brought Yuno one step closer to his dream by handing him his biggest promotion yet.

With its most recent chapters, the series has officially begun the ultimate battle for the fate of the Clover Kingdom. Asta was beaten by Lucius Zogratis in the beginning of the penultimate chapter of Yuki Tabata’s Black Clover manga before it was revealed that he intended to attack the Clover Kingdom. Black Clover has been preparing all the other characters for the big battle, even though the plot has since turned to Asta.

This was particularly true for Yuno because he was more driven than ever before to defeat the main villain after Asta’s defeat by Lucius and his belief that his closest competitor had been killed. In the most recent Black Clover chapter, Yuno gets elevated to Captain of the Golden Dawn squad and is seen putting his training to use against Lucius. Yuno is also seen as the new strongest member of the Golden Dawn.

When we last saw Yuno, he was in Black Clover, and he was still reeling from Asta’s defeat by Lucius. Since then, it appears that he has spent more time practicing with both of his grimoires than ever before, as Black Clover Chapter 355 makes clear that Yuno’s Star Magic is now considerably more potent than it was during the battle against the Dark Triad of the Spade Kingdom. Yuno proved to be the only powerful protector, easily repelling a devastating onslaught from Lucius that would have otherwise destroyed the Clover Kingdom. William Vangeance was also rendered ineffective by an attack that appeared to be fatal.

Vangeance then understands that Yuno has beyond his power, remembering how Julius Novachrono had rescued the Clover Kingdom from the same kind of sorcery. Vangeance chooses Yuno the new Captain of the Golden Dawn after observing him in action and ready to face Lucius.
