RUP theater company reported on Tuesday that it is delivering another stage play adjustment of Yu Koyama’s AZUMI manga titled Azumi Sengoku-hen that will keep running at the Bunkamura Theater Cocoon in Tokyo in March, and at the Cool Japan Park Osaka WW Hall in Osaka in April 2020.
Yui Imaizumi will assume the main job of the professional killer Azumi. Shunichi Okamura, who coordinated the 2005, 2015, and 2016 stage play adjustments of Azumi, will come back to coordinate the play.
Azumi is a manga arrangement made by Yū Koyama in 1994. Its story concerns the title character, a young lady raised as a major aspect of a group of professional killers, accused of murdering the warlords that undermine the uneasy harmony in Feudal Japan in the consequence of its long Sengoku common war period.
Azumi was initially distributed by Shogakukan and serialized in Big Comic Superior, and got an Excellence Prize at the 1997 Japan Media Arts Festival and the Shogakukan Manga Award in 1998.
